Peer Mohammad Alaudin Siddiqui

Shaykh ul Aalam, Shams ul Awliya,      al-Haj Khwaja Pir Mohammad Alauddin Siddiqui is a shaykh of the Naqshbandi tareeqa[see Shajra Sharif here]. He is a world-renowned and beloved scholar of the deen, but also a truly modest yet exemplary man of tasawwuf who teaches lessons of great depth through his own practical example. His lineage is also blessed as his father, Khwaja Ghulam Mohiuddin Ghaznavi, was a direct descendant of the great Companion, Sayyidina Khalid bin Waleed.

Khwaja Pir Mohammad Alauddin Siddiqui was born in Azad Kashmir on 1st January 1938, and spent his childhood growing up in the blessed presence of his noble father and spiritual guide (murshid), Khwaja Ghulam Mohiuddin Ghaznavi. Thus, he obtained a rich upbringing absorbed in dhikr, serving Allah through khidmat or service for Islam, not to mention the spiritual guidance, blessing and grace (fayz) from his beloved father. From a young age, Khwaja Mohammad Alauddin Siddiqui was recognized for his intelligence, humility and sincere devotion as he served at the darbar (centre) of Nerian Sharif.

When his father passed away, Khwaja Alauddin Siddiqui was 38 years of age. He became his successor (sajjada nasheen), and since then has successfully strived to spread the light of Islam and tasawwuf globally throughout the years.
Alhamdulillah, without a doubt it can be stated that Khwaja Alauddin Siddiqui is a perfect example of the phrase: “A great son of a great father”. Khwaja Ghulam Mohiuddin was a truly noble and kind-hearted man, with generous spirit and love for all for the sake of Allah; this character is reflected perfectly in the beautiful compassion of his beloved son, Khwaja Alauddin, through whose love, kindness, and gentle words of wisdom, has changed thousands of lives for the benefit of their dunya(this world) and aakhira (Hereafter). By his efforts of inspiring the ummah with light of the sunnah and love of the Noble Messenger of Allah, those who once turned from the Path have alhamdulillah become guided.

Khwaja Alauddin Siddiqui’s basic religious education, including Qur’an and Tafsir, were obtained from the famous Allama Mawlana Sardar Ahmed Sahib of Faisalabad. From a young age, he pursued his keen willingness to study Islam and seek knowledge. Soon he had become a dedicated aalim (scholar), whose high standards of intellect were upheld by a strong sense of taqwa, humility, faith and compassion towards all. Soon, by the Grace of Allah, he had become an inspiration to thousands, impacting them through his generous advice, and educating them in a loving manner regarding matters of religion, personal goodness, and the overall betterment of society today.

Enlightenment Progresses

In a tireless effort to present the true ways of Islam to all, Khwaja Alauddin Siddiqui began to travel, visiting the UK where he would remain for some time. During these early years of Islam in the West, he was recognized as a significant source of inspiration and leadership to the minority of Muslims here at the time. Consequently, the Shaykh began to establish much-needed mosques or masjids in London, Birmingham, Peterborough and various other cities in the country, for the benefit of the community. His trips to the UK became much more frequent so that this groundbreaking work could progress consistently. As his followers in the UK increased, so too did his projects for the service of the deen.

Over time, the Shaykh became increasingly popular amongst communities worldwide. To this day, people from all backgrounds, ranging from elders to the Muslim youth, are eager to hear his words and derive lessons from his love of Allah and the Noble Messenger.

More recently, Khwaja Alauddin Siddiqui has travelled across the globe to spread the light of compassion and truth to countries such as Scotland, Switzerland, Italy, Spain, Saudi Arabia, Germany, India and Turkey, demonstrating the spiritual richness of Islam and the purity of its teachings. In the UK alone, his followers or disciples currently amount to hundreds of thousands, a number which increases significantly by the day and reflects just a small portion of his disciples worldwide.

Educational Milestones

In 2004, Khwaja Alauddin Siddiqui founded the Al-Ehya Trust, now known as Mohiuddin Trust, which is a charity focusing on global issues and the betterment of deprived communities. Focusing mainly on the deprived Azad Kashmir region, the Trust works to counter their lack of basic essentials such as food, clean water and medicine. The Trust also focuses on groundbreaking educational projects worldwide as detailed below.

The first major project of the Trust was Mohiuddin Islamic University, which is today one of the best educational institutes in the whole of Azad Jammu Kashmir. After this, Khwaja Alauddin Siddiqui established the Mohiuddin Medical College, as part of the University. Once this was complete, plans were then made to develop Mohiuddin Hospital which provides a practical training ground for medical students who are ready to become fully-qualified doctors. The Hospital also provides free vital medical care and treatment for the poverty-stricken and needy, ensuring they are not deprived of basic health requirements.

In October 2009, Khwaja Alauddin Siddiqui established a much-needed educational institution for young Muslim women in Britain. Plans were revealed of the first ever Islamic girls’ college in the UK to educate students to a Dars-e-Nizami level, raising them to the status of aalimah (female scholar of religion). Mohiuddin International Girls College, or MIGC, is located in Burnley, England. In October 2010, the College opened its doors to students worldwide for its first ever term. The opening of the second MIGC branch is currently underway, located in Birmingham, England.

Humanitarian Aid

In 2005, Mohiuddin Trust came to the aid of victims of the South-Asia earthquake, identifying urgent needs to support children and orphans affected by the tragedy. The Trust responded by providing approximately two thousand children with fundamental education, clothing, food, medicine and accommodation. The Trust has also played a vital role in providing disaster relief to the victims of the Pakistan earthquake in July 2010.

Since then, Mohiuddin Trust has continued with its aid relief campaigns and the Trust’s dedicated volunteers are constantly on hand to ensure that all projects are continuously progressing.

A Candle against Darkness
As a response to the increasingly immoral and biased trends of the media, Khwaja Alauddin Siddiqui felt that a television channel devoted to broadcasting a pure Islamic view, abiding by the beliefs of the ahlus sunnah wal jamaah, was necessitated to counter the corruption of mainstream media outlets.

In September 2006, Khwaja Alauddin Siddiqui set up the television channel named Noor TV (Sky channel 819), which forms as part of Mohiuddin Trust’s projects for the benefit of the international community. The channel began live transmission a year later, and is now available to more than 166 countries worldwide.

Leading through Noble Footsteps

Khwaja Alauddin Siddiqui is undoubtedly the greatest inspiration to many seekers of the Truth, as a truly enlightening teacher, leader and as a guardian for his disciples. His profound devotion for Allah and the Beloved Messenger has awoken the hearts of many, and helped them to integrate solid Islamic values into their lives.
Through the teachings of Khwaja Alauddin Siddiqui, who is now affectionately known worldwide as Shaykh ul Aalam (meaning; Teacher of the Globe), thousands upon thousands have been inclined to turn back to the Path of deen. He has touched thousands of hearts worldwide; where doctors provide medical help for the ill, Khwaja Alauddin Siddiqui is the medic for darkened hearts in need of enlightenment. Through his compassion and words of loving guidance, many have found their way through dhikr (remembrance of Allah) and have recognised the light of the sunnah of the Beloved Messenger, may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him.

The teachings of beloved Khwaja Alauddin Siddiqui are ultimately what the Beloved Messenger of Allah taught the world 1400 years ago, so his example is admired by all. Alhamdulillah, he is a teacher who not only teaches through words but also through his actions & character, who reminds hearts of the Reality. Truly, the Messenger of Allah said, "The best of you are those who, when they are seen, God is remembered." [ibn Majah]

We sincerely pray to Allah the Most Loving to bless our beloved Shaykh with long, prosperous life with the best of health, strength and continuous increase in maqaam and blessing. Ameen, bi hurmati Sayyid al mursaleen, Sayyidina Muhammad RasulAllah, sallallahu alayhi wa sallam.
